PennFuture 5K Run/Walk for our Future

Can I finish a 5K?

If you’re in decent health, the answer is yes. One of the reasons that Generosity events are all 5K (3.1 mi) distances is so that we can have the broadest participant base possible. That makes the event more fun and raises more money for the charities you are supporting. Nonetheless, you should check with your physician before undertaking any exercise.

Can I walk the course?

Yes! Generosity events feature many walkers (as well as wheelers) and walking is a great way to participate with a whole group of friends and with younger participants.

Is there a minimum amount of fund raising I must do?

Yes. There is a low mandatory minimum fund raising level of $200. Most participants easily raise more and we know you can too. We provide you with the tools to make fund raising easy (your own web page, sample e-mails, fundraising tips, etc). Don’t worry; we’ve got your back.

Are Generosity events fun?

Absolutely. All of our events feature a live DJ, professional warm-up and stretch, entertainment, a professional announcer, live cash giveaways to charities, and much more. Trust us; you will have a great time doing great things for your charity.

Are there any awards given out at the event?

Yes. In addition to finisher medals for all participants, there are awards for the top three overall fundraisers, the top fundraiser for each charity, the top three male and female overall finishers as well as for the top three male and female finishers in ten age groups.

How much of the money that I raise goes to my charity?

100%. GENevents does not charge your charity any processing fees or commissions. So raise as much as you can because you can be sure that every penny is going to your charity.

What the heck is a Wheel of Generosity?

The Wheel of Generosity is GENevents’ signature event piece. It looks like a wheel of fortune. Every charity goes on the wheel and we spin it several times at each event to award participants with prizes and charities with cash donations. Our last individual winner won an iPad Mini and our last Charity Partner winner won $500.

Are Generosity events safe?

All Generosity events are coordinated with municipal enforcement officials and our planning team takes guidance from law enforcement and/or private security consultants. As a precaution, there is always at least one ambulance, as well as trained medical professionals, on site at every Generosity event.
